Hi there, I am a retired Vancouver PD Sgt. I now work at a small chain of family owned hotels in British Columbia, Canada.
RPB Hotels has a long association with the police, our Vancouver hotel used to be the dorm for out of town recruits attending the BC Police Academy and the owners son is ex-VPD. Our other 3 hotels in the Okanagan all have associations with the local RCMP. The President, Craig, and his wife Kim are both Harley riders. We would like to offer your members a discount at each of our hotels. Can you please print this in your newsletter and/or link on your web site
Police Discount on Hotels: We have four family owned hotels in British Columbia, Canada. So if you come to BC for an Alaska Cruise or on a ride, stay with us. Penticton-Lakeside Resort & Casino, Kelowna-Ramada Hotel, Vernon-Best Western Lodge and Vancouver-Best Western Sands by the Sea. The "911 rate" is valid for serving and retired officers. It's our absolute lowest rate, even lower than government. Please phone toll free 1.800.663.9400 for a quote or to book a room.
What a beautiful day we had at the Capital for the COPS Ride. Many thanks to the follwing members for assisting with parking. Dan M., Dale S., Julie B, Kurt B, Chris D., Steve S., and his brother Dan,and myself.
Bill M., sent in his registration even though he was unable to attend. We contributed $90. and 28 Staff hours.
Overal attendance was a little smaller than last year, but the event was still a success with about 60-70 bikes making the ride. Enjoy the pictures. Ride to Miners in Yakima 2009
Cloudy and dark, but not raining.
I'm up early for a 0700 departure for Enumclaw to meet with WA II members for the ride over to Yakima. By he time I reach the Mounts road Scales the Sun is out so bright, I have to stop and put on my Sunglasses. I arrive at the Kettel restaurant in Enumclaw with 10minutes to spare. At 0900 we leave Enumclaw 10 bikes strong for HWy 410, Chinook Pass and Yakima. Beautiful ride Over the pass. We arrive at Miners on time, to find WA III members already there and just sittting down with their hamburgers. I get a pleasant surprise when I see our own Bob O. sitting at one of the Tables. HE had gotten up this morning and decided last minute to make the ride over. Bob came over via white pass and had arrived a few minutes ahead of us. It was a good turnout with members from WA I, II, II IV, V and VI making the ride. Only WA VII was not represented. After seeing old friends, making new ones, and taking picures, it was time to start for home. Bob and I rode back together via White pass . Another great ride sunny and warm. Many thanks to WA III for sharing their pictures, taken byRobert Chappell, to add to the few I was able to take. It was a great ride and visit. One worth adding on your Calendars for next year.
